Women Help Make Our World Better

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Give a woman even a micro-credit; she, her husband, her children and extended family will eat for a lifetime.

Studies by the United Nations World Bank have shown that women are more likely to contribute to community development than men.  Therefore, women are better candidates for support programs.  Yet, domestically and worldwide, the dignity and respect for human life, especially for women has reached an all-time low.  One out of every six people in the world live on less than one dollar a day; 75% of them are women.

Many ancient cultures have predicted this current time in history: Kali Yuga–the age of darkness.  “Kali” to Hindus and Buddhists means “strife, discord, quarrel or contention”.  Clearly, more than ever we need to carry the light, no matter if it’s just a flicker some days.  Whatever our ‘spiritual’ practice is, we have to step it up.  It’s not enough to put ourselves into the yoga posture of ‘humble warrior’.  We’ve got to take it off the yoga matt too and bring revolutionary peace into this thirsty, fear-based world.

After a recent meditation session, a “vision” or image emerged before me.  I was slowly walking by hundreds and then thousands of sleeping people.  A day later, the image then shifted.  I was then walking through acres of cemeteries—yes, dead people.

The message?  Keep moving, be as fearless as you can be…and yes, you’re still alive!  But please, don’t underestimate the power of this dark, man-made “Kali” coming on Planet Earth right now.  Stay tuned.  Elections are also coming!

Hold on to your dear life,
