Round Wicker Seating
  • Tired of trying to manage your anxiety, fears, and doubts on your own?
  • Are you struggling to accept things as they are—or to make the changes you know are needed?
  • Are you experiencing repeated challenges in your relationships with others, a partner, or a spouse?
  • As you age, is that critical (fear-based) inner voice becoming louder?

In these continued challenging times, experienced help is here for you.

I offer Individual and Couples Therapy and private consultations for adults (18+). My specialties include life transitions, anxiety reduction, trauma healing, relationship and marriage support, career and retirement planning, and aging wellness.

Three core tenets of my work are building hope, developing new strengths and insights, and cultivating gratitude – helping you create a more fulfilling life for yourself and your loved ones.

My approach integrates the best of modern psychology with the wisdom of ancient traditions.

What Approaches Does Marcia Use in Therapy and Private Consultations?

I tailor each session to your needs in the moment, integrating a range of therapeutic approaches.

Somatic (Mind-Body) Therapy

Rather than staying only in conversation, we pay attention to the body—tracking sensations, emotions, and images that arise beneath words. This helps access deeper insight and healing.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

We explore how your thoughts influence your behaviors. By identifying and shifting limiting beliefs, you can develop more confident, constructive ways of thinking and responding.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Family of Origin Work

Your early relationships shape how you see yourself and connect with others. Together, we explore these patterns to uncover and release dynamics that may be contributing to stress, low self-esteem, or unhealthy choices. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own feelings and roles, guided by a core Self that embodies clarity and compassion. Healing involves understanding and harmonizing these parts so the Self can lead with greater balance and resilience.

Depth & Psychodynamic Approaches

Using tools such as reflection, journaling, and dream exploration, we bring greater awareness to unconscious patterns. This deeper understanding supports lasting emotional growth. My role is to provide a safe, supportive environment where we build a strong therapeutic relationship. At the same time, I believe therapy should empower you—not create dependency—so you can develop the tools to become your own best resource.

Couples Therapy

I approach couples work with deep respect for each individual and the relationship itself. Even in conflict, partners reflect important truths to one another. I help couples move beyond patterns of silence, blame, distance, or repeated conflict by building:

  • Clear, honest communication
  • Compassion and mutual understanding
  • Awareness of individual responses and needs

This work supports greater connection, intimacy, and resilience in relationships of all kinds.

Additional Influence

My professional perspective is also informed by long-term involvement in 12-Step recovery work and the teachings of Prem Rawat, world-renowned peace educator.
